I confess, I have been bad

Ok, shoot me now. I had McDonalds yesterday. For those of you who don't know me very well, you probably wouldn't quite understand what that means. I'm vegetarian (although I do eat fish and seafood). In my fridge you will usually find organic milk, feta, pumpkin, spinach, cherry tomatoes, smoked salmon, blueberries, organic yoghurt and butter, fresh fruit juice, olives, fresh ravioli, date chutney, camembert, blue cheese, broccoli and haloumi (as well as lots of wine and chocolate, but that's beside the point here). You get the idea. I don't do McDonalds. Except in extreme emergency situations or situations absolutely beyond my control. Both of which mean the same: When I'm really drunk at 3am in the morning and nothing else is open. It happens. That's fine. But yesterday I had McDonalds by choice. Now that's a worry. And I'm not sure why I'm confessing this to the world here as I'm kind of embarassed about it, but I think I needed a cleansing confession. To my defense, I would like to say that I was in a rush between work and evening tutorial at uni and just needed something quick and filling. But then again, I could have had a sandwich or noodles. Yet I chose to have McDonalds. A fish burger and a medium fries for dinner. Because I felt like it. Ok, dear God, you can take me straight to hell now.

Anyway, apart from the fact that I betrayed my oh-so-organic heart, the one thing that most irritates me is that McDonalds is so full of shit. Does anyone else find it absolutely hilarious that the new McDonalds slogan is "Because you are what you eat"? Ahem, yeah... sure. I am what I eat and I choose to eat McDonalds because I want to be a rubber-cross-cardboard tasting imitation bun made with a lovely mix of genetically modified wheat and E345 and E452 and with some greasy garbage meat thrown in there to create a cholesterol and fat loaded piece of junk. That sounds like me.

B,
I have to say one thing: You had McDonald's??? GOOD FOR YOU!!! Firstly you know how much I love my junk food, but mostly, I have a friend who usually says, some things are good for the body, and some are good for the soul. McDonald's is definitely good for the soul. And I'm glad you provided your soul with this amusement...there are other things that are also good for the soul but are much worse then McDonald's, so you shouldn't worry too much ;-)

Hush, little blessed child ;)
You have to give yourself a break and forgive your "trespasses" once in a while.
And after all, it was a harmless little fish burger right? No harm done to the vegetarian in ya ;)

Ps. Have a confession to make too. Haven't had McDonald's in -like- ages and started dreaming of a McBacon and fries the minute I read your post. So glad I can't get one where I am now, or I'd have to burn in hell too

Dont be yourself up m'lady.
I have found that at times for *me* being a lard ass once in a while does me good. Yes I am an organic junkie also... Recall my toothpaste ordeal? *smiles*

However once in a while a bag of orginal oreos versus Newman O's and Mickey D French Fries just does the trick...

I lurve you.

Paulinha- Yeah, you got me there. The thing with the soul. And I don't really think it's a big deal either. Although I do wonder whether McDonalds is actually good for the soul? Well, let's just run with that. :-)

Imogen- Maybe we can take a little trip to hell together and have a big McDonalds feast, supersized! You're up for it?

Mystic- Hahaha! Yeah, I absolutely agree, it's no big deal. I just like exaggerating a bit once in a while. :-)

SJ- I'm sorry if I irriate you. I've never tried to convert you though. And I find it interesting how meat eaters regularly try to pick fights with me, trying to take me on about why they're right and I'm not. I never do that. I'm happy with my choice and if other people are happy with theirs, we can all be happy.

Jerry- Oh no. I had a feeling this was gonna get worse.

Callie- so true, my dear. And if you say that, it must be right. Because you're cool. *hugs*

Aggie- hahaha- that long nose kind of suits you.

As a co-vegetarian, I know the feeling. But I think such an experience can help, because you feel the slippery gooy animal fat and the chewy hard muscle, and you remember why you are a vegetarian. I hope it tasted good, but I hope you still do not miss meat. PS:sounds like our fridges have the same things inside...
