Offside

Check out my latest film review on the Iranian movie "Offside" here.

So sad that where you are born in this world makes such a difference to the level of freedom one can enjoy. I thank God for where I was born every day.
I tend to stay away from these films because they make me so frustrated and angry at the stupidity of the countries from which they come. But, I still know my frustration and anger can be nothing by comparison to those who have to live there. Good review.

I just met an Iranian. Somehow different from the picture you get from watching CNN.

Oh, by the way, our common friend Gaby was officially invited to enter the movie she made with Arthur Cohen in a major Iranian film festival. Unfortunately Gaby has never shot a movie. Nor has she met Arthur Cohen. We are still figuring out how she got onto that mailing list.

This movie has also been the object of several notable reviews in Deutschland. Thanks for your hard work and your perfect English writing - I see no trace of a German/Swiss influence.

I like the fact it last the same length as a soccer game. Clever.
