Just another day in the life of a blessed child

Spit some fire, baby!

Look at me and my adorable little Triumph Spitfire 1969. Aren't we a beautiful couple? I think we are quite clearly made for each other- a match made in heaven, I would say.

I am so in love with the Spitfire. It is quite possibly one of the most beautiful cars I have ever seen and it runs like a treat and purrs like a kitten. I bought it quite a few years ago and spent seven years rebuilding it until it looked and ran the way it does today. You didn't know I was that mechanically talented, did you? Me neither. And, well, technically speaking, the Spitfire isn't really mine. It kind of belongs to my friend Ashley. And he kind of rebuilt it. But let's not get all technical here, shall we? I so wish it was mine. And I think I look pretty good with it. Let's just leave it at that.

You do look absolutely made for each other Betts. Just the kind of vehicle for a trip out to luch, vanilla lattes and shopping until we drop and still room in the sports car for all the packages. Lol!
btw ... Is friend Ashley still alive ... or currently (buried) tidied away in your most excellent garage/tool shed?

Oh Crap! Don't let my wife see that car. She'll bump off you and Ashley for the car, or she would bump off you and me and run away with Ashley for the car, the main theme here being she loves Spitfires. But Aggie is right, Bump off Ashley, take the car but clean the garage/tool shed too...

Congrats on the Swiss win in the AC. Don't be upset at our rantings about the crew..We would have preferred a total Swiss Crew too..We want your victory to taste that much sweeter. I am sure your homeland has some great sailors, you can't all be making Swiss chocolate and yodelling. It was a great race and you deserve to be proud..YOUR BOAT WON and the boat is 90% of the victory. Every team tries everything they can to win. As NZ about the American Catamaran. No way we would change the rules...just how you use them...

Mystic is so stuck on yesterdays news. Next race has already started between Alinghi and Team N.Z. (New Rules out today)

The USA had better hurry up & start hiring alot more Kiwis if they wanna win & don't wanna get left behind.
Otherwise they ain't never getting their cup back.
(Betts and me are gonna play swapsies with it over the next few years anyhoo)

But after this blog, I understand the Swiss so much better.
They like it speedy ... aye, aye Betts!

Aggs- I like the way you think. Shopping, lunch and the Spitfire sounds like my kind of day. And as far as Ashley is concerned- sure, ahem, he is alive. I just haven't seen him around... for a while.

Mystic- I think your wife is going to have to find her own Spitfire, because this one is mine! (Well.. kind of)

And re. the America's Cup- I'm far from upset. I just think it's funny that we won, considering we don't even have an ocean. But hey, that's the way we are. Kind of funny, but lovable.

Aggs- That's right, we like it fast. And Mystic would better hurry up and try to catch us and that big shiny cup of ours.

Anna-Lys- I will never let something as mundane as reality get into the way of my dreams. :-)

You had me there for a sec...
Abolutely gorgeous car!
Still drooling over it, actually ;)
Maybe you should consider hooking up with Ash (well, it's better than bumping him off, right?)

You are looking great with the Spitfire!!
The best part of it is that you get to ride it but you don't have to pay any mechanical or fuel bills... That's a great deal!!
Ash gotta watch out otherwise this car will be parked at Oxlade Dr permanentely

you looking dashing next to that hot rod! What color is it? I don't know if it is appropriate for a vegetarian to drive such a car?! lol.

Is the registration intended to have sexual connotations or is that just me?

Imogen- Ahem, nice idea, but I don't know what Ashley's girlfriend would think about that. Plus, he's a fantastic guy, but I think I'll stick with bumping him off and just keeping the car- it sounds easier.

Michelle- That's exactely right. I like how you think. I get the rides but not the bills- how good is that? I already told Ash that our garage will be free soon, so he's more than welcome to "store" the Spitfire there.

Mark- It's green. And why wouldn't it be appropriate for a vegetarian? Please explain. I think it's highly appropriate, actually.

Edward- That's just you. It's the year the car was built.
