Just another day in the life of a blessed child

I know it's silly, but I can't help it.

When I try to get lots of things done and ticked off a to-do list and I end up doing something that wasn't on the list, I add it on afterwards and tick it off. And then I give myself a little pat on the shoulder. I know it's quite strange, but it makes me feel like I've been really efficient.

Me too.
I have to-do list 3 pages long. Sometimes I start my list on Monday and don't stop adding and checking until Friday.
I have fancy microsoft word check list for special events and spring cleaning too.
Oh.. If you really want pathetic I have my grocery list on excel. - so I can vary snacks and dinners, wouldn't want anything routine and boring.

Poor Blither- OCD.

My to-do list is to make a to-do list. I keep pushing it to the back of mind.

Sometimes I tick things off my list because I know I'll get to it as part of one of my other chores and then I forget and I get ticked off with myself for ticking it off my list.

The only thing ticking around here is my heart. It ticks rapidly every time I think someone has made a list for me that I haven't ticked off and that ticks them off...the clock is running people...tic toc!

Blither- I can see, you are my kind of girl. I'm totally into to-do-lists also- but I haven't taken it to the computer level yet. I guess there's still room for development.

YSB- Oh well, that's a start.

Aggs- I force myself not to tick it off before I've really done it, because I love that feeling when a job is done and can be crossed off.

Mystic- Hahaha... you're a fool, Mystic. And I mean that in the best possible way.

I think you should step it up a notch and start with a blank sheet. Then, after you've done a whole lot of random stuff you can add it all to the list and feel really efficient as you tick the items off.

anytime you get off your proverbial arse,
and do something,
that's what society calls
"being productive"
as if we are all mothers
with children to herd and
wonder women and mary combined,
with the ability to be 'christina'
in the blonde wig after
he comes home from work so
he can fantasize about someone else
while the imaginary children write lists on the walls
of still more we can do,
our wonder woman threesome with Mary.
All we want is sleep and
herd dreams to their proper
conclusion.

I just wish I was organized enough to make a to-do list. I would never get it done though.

SJ- Out of that list, maybe you can make a "can-still-do list" and a "lessons-learnt list"? But maybe that's just disgustingly optimistic.

Kyknoord- Welcome, and thanks for the input. I like it. The list might then be something like "walking up the stairs", tick, "wash hands", tick, "drink a cup of coffee", tick, "call my best friend", tick, "sing a silly song", tick... I would feel so efficient.

Sera- Amen, sister. I love it! If you ever get tired of being a cartoonist, you should be a poet.

Larry- Maybe you can put that on your to-do list.

Sick bastard has said it all...

I guess I'm just not that efficient. Not when it comes to to-do-lists, anyway..:P

I'm trying my best, though. I'm sure that should count for something...?
