Just another day in the life of a blessed child

Monday, July 14, 2008

Thank you, thank you, I'll be here til Thursday.

I went to a wedding yesterday and I was everybody's hero because I wore those shoes for 14 hours and was still dancing at the end of the night. All the other girls had taken their basically flat shoes off and couldn't get over how I was still standing, much less dancing in mine. It's all a matter of training, I tell you. But I was still a bit impressed with myself.

I'm impressed that you can walk in them, let alone dance in them after 14 hours.

I would have made it about 10 seconds. I am the orginal barefoot girl.

Was that you over in the corner dancing? Funny how we both ended up at weddings, and I was not trying to make you jealous...Just hungry.

Callie- I can give you some lessons in high heel walking and dancing if you like?

Mystic- If it was dancing like crazy and wearing high heels, yes, then it was probably me!

Callie (the other one)- Actually, I didn't. But that would have been the icing on the cake after that day.

You must be skilled. That's impressive.

I don't have much fashion sense, but I think the shoes are pretty nice, too.

Weddings have wonderful
positive energy.
I Love the strappy heels.
(I've had so much wine at weddings,
I couldn't feel my feet either)

a.decker- You don't have to have fashion sense to judge whether you like something or not. Some people think fashion is this exclusive thing to which you have to gain access, but it's not. It's only about what you like and what makes you feel good.

Sera- I know, that's a good trick too, the one with the wine. And sometimes you've just simply danced so long that it doesn't matter anymore if you dance even longer.

dancing is joy,
creative translation of the good life, well-lived.
and drinking for a good cause,
to end world thirst.
and all at a wedding too,
hope seeds planted.
dancing is fertility.
water accordingly.

Bettina, love, love LOVE those shoes! I find the trick is to stay on your feet. Once you sit down or (heavens forbid) take the shoes off once, you're doomed!

Lovely shoes...truly..and the 14 hours must be a new record!

Bravo!

I would have ended up in the emergency room with a broken ankle.
Good job, you!

Sera- So right, and so beautifully said, as only Miss Sera could.

Penny- Hi and welcome and thank you! Not even sure if 14 hours really is a record- I'm quite good at doing things like that and I'm generally the last one left on the dancefloor. Yet another skill to put on the resume!

Cindy-Lou- May I suggest the flat shoes, then.

Well done ... a modern day torture but oh so nice shoes.
I'd be nursing my blisters by now ... have your feet fallen off yet?

I'm only sad you showed us the shoes empty...but I'd understand after 14 hours of dancing in them you'd want them off. I know I would.
