I'm in Switzerland...
...and it sure feels quite surreal. I've been loving the streets of Zurich, the snow-capped mountains I see from my parents' terrace where I have breakfast, the good bread and cheese, seeing my family and old friends. But other than that, I'm not entirely here yet. The Indians apparently believe that after a long journey, it takes a while for the soul to catch up. Mine is on its way, and I think it should be here anytime soon. At least it shouldn't have a jetlag, since it seems to have taken its sweet time.

Ahhh, home sweet home. You'll love it once your soul has caught up. Have some of that lovely coffee and chocolate for me.

Welcome Home!

I like that about the soul
catching up. I think sometimes
the soul goes on extended
holiday and that might
account for my current bout of inspired underactivity.
(PS.I've heard yodeling
brings the soul back to you).

You have good chocolate there, right?

Aggs- I do already love it- it's just still a bit strange. But yes, the coffee and chocolate are great... and so are the cheese...mhhm... and the bread. I will make sure to have some for you!
Mystic- Thank you.
Sera- I guess it's nothing but fair the soul should have a holiday too, every once in a while. As long as it comes back all lovely and refreshed.
I've never heard the yodeling thing. I suck at yodeling, but I will give it a good shot then.
Paulinha- Muita obrigada linda! You've got my number now- can't wait to speak to you!
Chris-As a matter of fact, we have the best.

Yumm. Bread and cheese on a terrace overlooking snow-capped mountains.
American's don't really understand bread and cheese until they go to Europe. There is no American equivalent to the crunchy rolls one finds in Switzerland. Brotchen, I think they call it? Add fresh butter and real cheese, it's heaven in your mouth.

You got it sister, that's exactely it. Australians don't really get it either (although I'm one too now, but I'm still Swiss enough to require real bread). In Switzerland, we often just eat bread with butter, cheese, meats, jam for dinner- and maybe a salad to go with it. I love it. It is indeed heaven in your mouth. A lot of the bread in Australia can barely be called bread by Swiss standards.

Glad you made it safe and sound. Be kind to your soul. They were invented before jet travel. ;-)
You guys are making me wonder what I'm missing, talking about that crunchy bread and real cheese.

I am extremely jealous. I, currently, am in Oklahoma (United States) and it's not surreal at all. Hot, and a little muggy. No bread. Cheese, but those processed sandwich singles. If I didn't like you, I might hate you a little bit. ;)

I just love the way you explain things. I know exactly that feeling, and could never quite put it into words.
Glad you made it safe and sound. Enjoy the bread and cheese. Have a few bites for me, as well. It sounds absolutely lovely.

Yes, we eat our food/bread freshly baked and no processed cheese here either thank you. I nearly died for lack of fresh fruit & food in America when I last visited.
I loved the swiss food ... yum. Save some for me.

Lucky You Bettina!
Cheers Darling!

My soul would still be in bar getting drunk. He claims he's too drunk to travel.

An addendum to the culinary habits of the Swiss - Germans do the same with their bread. Breakfast: bread, butter, jam, maybe fresh fruit. Evening meal: Bread, butter, cheese, and fresh veggies.
Here you can enjoy the simple pleasures of truly good food not busied up to cover shoddy quality. And since you do so much walking, you don't gain weight.

How much food (bread and cheese?) can you eat girl? Lay off the chocolate and BLOG! The Great Oz has spoken....I think I'll try that last line on my wife. If I die it will be listed as justifiable homicide.
